I am cautious with Luke because he is fearful, but I honestly don't think he has an aggressive bone in his body. I've seen him completely submit to another dog that approached him suddenly. I think if we remove those labels, but we are cautious and continue to work with our dogs, that is the best Jan Khttp://www.wagnwoofpets.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3247022130749091471.post-22350383248646538982016-06-17T20:30:56.538-07:002016-06-17T20:30:56.538-07:00Wow this really hit home for me. She has a tendency to be particularly bitchy to other females, so I am very careful with her around them. She can walk along side them in group walks without problem, but doesn't prefer to interact. I find labels useful as shorthand to describe and understand patterns of behavior, but if they're limiting or making things worse, they've lost their value. People are so quick to call dogs "aggressive," when honestly, how many dogs out there are just vicious for no reason? Not many; it's almost always fear. And sometimes, it's actually a completely appropriate response to another dog acting like a little shit.<br /><brKari Neumeyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08180248845656504546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3247022130749091471.post-16176822780693061772016-06-13T22:03:01.561-07:002016-06-13T22:03:01.561-07:00Thanks!
