Phoenix makes new friends! Monday Mischief

It's been pretty rainy lately but in between the breaks in the rain, I've been using the new dog park that our apartment complex installed. I've mostly been using it when there's no one else in there. Most of the dogs in our complex are not friendly.

"Hello there!"

Recently the girls have been hanging out in one corner of the dog park. When I got closer to investigate I found a HUGE gap in the fence!

Isn't that pup cute!? The girls were trying to make friends with him/her. They've been bouncing around trying to invite their friend into the park.

It doesn't look like much of a gap from this angle! I emailed the apartment manager about the gap/loose board and they couldn't even find it! I had to send pictures. I was actually pretty excited that Phoenix had an appropriate interaction with the dog behind the fence because she can be fence/barrier aggressive.

Has your dog ever made a friend in an unusual way?

  1. How nice that your complex got its own dog park! Maybe some of those mean dogs will be more friendly when they're off leash in there?
Chewy loves to sniff through the fence at dog parks, cuz there's usually small dogs on the other side. Sometimes they run back and forth along the fence, and it's pretty cute.

  3. Me and Stanley make furends every place we go. Mom says we are very social! We are playing catch up since we have been working on the Heart 2 Heart Dance!

  5. A shop dog ran out of the store to meet Mr. N (allegedly the first time she has ever done this) and they became pretty good wrestling buddies.

  6. I would really love to utilize the dog park near my house, but I will have to get up around 5 a.m. to do so...maybe this summer. Right now it's of course still dark at that hour.

    1. My friend and I used to go to the dog park in the dark when I first realized Phoenix was reactive. That way she could still socialize but only with my friend's dog. My husband thought we were crazy for going out there in the dark but it was so nice not having to deal with other people!

  8. Aww, hooray for new friends! Is that a mastiff on the other side?

Mauja and Atka are both super dog social, but I still won't go to the dog park near us. Too many irresponsible people that ruin the fun : /

    1. I think it's a mastiff puppy! I don't blame you for not going to the dog park. This one is in our apartment complex and only the people who live here are allowed to use it. Usually there's no one in there! LOL

    1. I think so! I think it's a mastiff puppy. At first I thought it was a full grown boxer and then I got a closer look. LOL
