My mom was living in Germany with the tragedy happened, so she experienced it quite differently from those who were here. Today is my birthday, so we celebrate, but Mom says I was born on a sad day to remind everyone life goes on and even with sad memories life can be really happy. I'm a positive on a negative day I guess.
It is definitely a moment we won't forget - and when I think back so vividly to that day it's hard to imagine that much time has passed already. Memories like that don't just fade away.
It's one of those moments that never leaves our memories. We, too, remember.
