Major Dog "Tiger" Toy Review

Look at that face! She is SO excited!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a fabulous day! Today I have an exciting new toy review for you! Phoenix absolutely loves toys, in fact (other than food) toys are pretty much her favorite thing! One of the best ways to make this little dog happy is to give her a new toy. There's a catch, though! Zoe loves to destroy dog toys. While Phoenix is easy on her toys, the first thing Zoe does is try to kill them and get all the stuffing out. So when I pick toys for them, I try to pick tough toys that will last longer than 5 minutes. I was so excited when I was given the opportunity to review a toy from Major Dog!

Major Dog is a toy company that is based out of Sonneberg Germany, the toy capitol of Europe!
The toys were developed through an intense collaborative effort between trainers and dog owners. All of the toys and training articles are designed, tested and TÜV-certified for safety. TÜV-certified means that the dog toys have undergone and passed the same rigorous contaminant testing as a child's toy.  Major Dog toys are the world's first to do so. Major Dog is so concerned about safety that they took several years to test their products before offering them for sale. I really appreciate how much effort Major Dog has gone through to make sure they are producing quality products. It's nice to know I'm giving my dogs a safe toy to play with.

Major Dog has a wide variety of toys to choose from and we selected the Tiger toy. The Tiger is a robust toy that was designed for long throws with the loop that's attached to it. Phoenix loves the texture of the plush that's also been affixed to the toy! We've been using this toy for playing tug and fetch and we've been having so much fun!

The Tiger toy does not contain any squeakers, so it's a nice quiet toy. I actually appreciate having some toys around that the dogs still love but don't make obnoxious noises!

We've been playing with this toy both indoors and outdoors and it's survived both of my dogs playing with it. I still make sure to monitor any interactions that Zoe has with the toy but so far she has not been able to kill it. You can really tell that a lot of thought and effort was put into making this toy and it's survived Zoe using her back teeth on it. I'm very happy with the toy!

I am thrilled with this toy, it's a great tough toy that was built to last and I would definitely recommend checking Major Dog out!

Is your dog good with their toys? Or are they destructive like Zoe?

ZoePhee was provided with a Tiger Toy from Major Dog in exchange for an honest review. We were not monetarily compensated and all opinions are my own. Major Dog is not responsible for the content of this blog post.

  1. super cute toy!
Dakota used to be extremely destructive with his toys when he was younger. Now, the most he will chew off is a tag (if I don't cut it off) and maybe an ear ;)

    1. This one is mostly canvas with a bit of plush sewn on. Zoe is pretty hard on toys, too and so far she hasn't been able to kill it. We've been using it for tug! :D

  3. Thank you, thank you!! I have been on the lookout for a plush toy that DOES NOT have squeaker in it forever!! Both Sheba and Luke live to destroy toys, and I worry about them swallowing a squeaker. Even if they did destroy this, at least I wouldn't have to worry about that, and I love that this company has done safety testing. They are a bit pricey once you add shipping, but I still might get them one for Christmas!

  7. Sounds like an awesome toy! Although I'm usually gentle on my toys, my humans like the idea of a squeaker-less toy, not just from the noise aspect but a safety point of view.

  9. That is a great toy. I always had a problem when toys would get "killed" stuffing everywhere. Mary doesn't do that anymore mpe. This is a nice option to offer to clients that ask me about toys, and tell me that their puppy destroys everything. Now I can tell them about Major Dog. Thanks for sharing. I will be definitely sharing this information.

  12. Major Dog from Germany, huh? I wonder if they have corgis over there to run these toys thorough quality control. ;) My dogs tear up EVERYTHING. But I'll keep a lookout; I buy them plush for Christmas (even knowing they'll tear it up), just because they love those few precious play minutes so much.

  23. Great review of an excellent dog toy company! I love that the use the testing designed for children's toys :) Tashi is not all that interested in toys at 16 yrs old, but the GSD loves to disembowel every stuffed toy, so this might work for her. Thanks!

  25. My mom has a dog who destroys almost every toy he touches. He's been known to destroy one within 5 minutes. I definitely need to share this company with my mom and maybe we can find a toy Bandit can enjoy for a long period of time.
