Recently a friend and I were talking about how my dogs don't pant very much. It's totally true! Unless it's really hot or I've worked them really hard, they don't pant. It's very rare for me to get a tongue out photo! I actually had to hunt for this one! This was after Phoenix had been running for at least 5 miles.
Does your dog pant a lot? Or are they more like mine?
mine are big panters in texas summer. :)
ReplyDeleteWe don't pant much either, but Bailie naturally has her mouth open with her tongue out a lot. She isn't panting, it just hangs there.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs pant. All. The. Time. Cute photo!
ReplyDeleteIn the summer - yes! In this weather - not so much. I sometimes give her the stink eye after we've been hiking up hill and there I am, gasping and wheezing and she's just all calm, mouth closed, barely exerting herself. Makes me feel SO out of shape. But in the summer, it's a level playing field. :)
ReplyDeleteRita is the same. She has her mouth shut most of the time, so it's hard for me to get a tongue out photo too! On hot walks, she pants (she doesn't like the hear!) but otherwise she's usually got her mouth shut and looks quite serious!
ReplyDeleteDakota doesn't pant a lot but I can get tongue out photos easily because Shelties have a perpetual "smile"....when Dakota smiles he often shows his tongue :)

At first I was thinking how unusual that seemed...that they don't pant. But then when I got thinking about it, I don't think Luke pants much either. The girls both do. I wonder if it's just that shorter/thin haired dogs don't get hot as often?
ReplyDeleteYou look so happy and content.
ReplyDeleteYep, had a good five mile run. Time for water now.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day. ☺
She looks like she's very happy.
ReplyDeleteMine pant in the summer during exercise but that's the only time. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteNola hardly ever pants, which I love. Roxie, on the other hand, pants a lot!
ReplyDeleteHaha, nice shot!
ReplyDeleteKoda pants a lot, but my other two don't seem to.

As soon as we start walking, Sampson starts panting. Delilah not so much. She does pant on super hot days but once we stop walking, she seems to recover fairly quickly, while Sampson will still be panting for a while.
