| The ground is covered in ash! |
Around 12 miles from my home, the forest is on fire due to illegal fireworks. I'm completely devastated. Our iconic Multnomah Falls is burning. People have been evacuated from all the surrounding towns and it's just awful.
I took the girls for a walk out at our park this morning and it was so full of smoke that I had to wear a mask and we had to leave early.
I'm so sad and I hope they ban personal fireworks. I'm so over them.
I am sorry about the fires. Unfortunately you can ban fireworks all you want, but the people who want them will just go to the next state over to get them, or order them online :-(
ReplyDeleteI know they can still get them but there will be less. Less fireworks would be a good thing. We have people lighting fireworks off around here on a pretty much constant basis. Any excuse to light them off and they will. I have dogs who are still terrified to go outside after dark. We have kids who just destroyed our entire Colombia River Gorge because they thought it was funny to throw them into the forest. It's ridiculous. I hope they ban them and make it harder for people to get their hands on them. They've already banned them in Vancouver, they should ban them here as well.
