The Honest Kitchen Dehydrated Dog Food Review

I recently took a quiz from The Honest Kitchen "How Human is Your Pet" and we received a free goodie in return! We got three samples of their dehydrated foods! How neat is that?

The Honest Kitchen is a company that makes a variety of different high quality dog and cat foods and they also have different kinds of treats, too! All of their foods and treats are made with human grade ingredients in the USA and delivered right to your door!

We haven't gotten to try any of their foods yet so I was really excited to get the samples! We got Turkey, Chicken and Fish. The chicken and fish are from their grain free selection and the turkey is from their whole grain selection. My dogs do not have any allergies so grain is not really a concern for us.

Both the chicken and turkey formulas are sourced from free-range, humanely raised animals. The Fish is sourced from wild, line-caught white fish.

I decided to try the Chicken and Turkey this time.

The chicken (called force) ingredients include: Chicken, organic flaxseed, potatoes, celery, sweet potatoes, apples, organic kelp, honey, pumpkin, green beans, cabbage, bananas, papayas, basil, garlic, tricalcium phosphate, choline chloride, zinc amino acid chelate, vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin E supplement, potassium iodide, potassium chloride, iron amino acid chelate, copper amino acid chelate.

The Turkey (called keen) ingredients include: Turkey, organic oats, potatoes, organic flaxseed, carrots, cabbage, organic kelp, apples, honey, garlic, tricalcium phosphate, choline chloride, zinc amino acid chelate, vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin E supplement, potassium iodide, potassium chloride, iron amino acid chelate, copper amino acid chelate.

It was really easy to make this for my dogs. I just needed 1/3 of a cup of warm water and one packet. You mix it together and let it sit for 3-5 minutes.

Left: Chicken (force) Right: Turkey (keen)

Once the food had completely absorbed all of the water, I could actually smell chicken and turkey!! It smelled really good!

Zoe can be picky at times and she was so excited by what was in her bowl!

 Phoenix really liked hers, too!

I think these foods are awesome and I'm planning on purchasing some! My dogs both really liked them a lot. I think it would be awesome to have this on hand for when I'm traveling because the girls will refuse to eat their kibble when we are on the road or any other time I feel like spoiling them.

Have you seen my review for THK Winter Warmers yet? There's a coupon code on there for $2 off! The Winter Warmers are limited addition, so hurry over to get yours! :)

The Honest Kitchen provided the samples of their foods at no cost and I was not asked to review them, either. I received them through taking the quiz and was not provided monetarily for this blog post. As always, I only share information with my readers that I feel is relevant and my reviews are always 100% honest and my opinions are my own. 1. We picked up Honest Kitchen samples at Bark World. The small dogs wouldn't touch it, but the big dogs scarfed it down. Then went out about a million times in the middle of the night. *sigh*

  5. That's a great endorsement! I looked really closely at THK back when I was choosing a food for Shyla, and I loved the quality but the cost was out of this world for an everyday food. The idea of having it as a special food, given occasionally, is great.
