Phoenix decided to pose on the fence for me!
Today, Zoe was done with this inside games business. She was being super needy, pacing and poking me and then she got up on the couch and put her head on my knee and she wouldn't settle down. I couldn't resist those big brown eyes and decided to take them to the big off leash park. It has warmed up a bit here and the moles have been quite active so Zoe was super excited to get out there. She actually hasn't caught a mole yet but that doesn't stop her from trying.
Sorry about all the jump clips, my phone was being super glitchy and only taking a few seconds of video a time!
After she got that out of her system, we continued on our walk. I didn't go as far as usual because my toe is pretty darn sore being in a shoe but we did make it 2 miles!
Here are some more photos!
So what do you all do when you can't walk your dogs for whatever reason (sick/injured/etc)?
Those pesky things are toying with her! Sorry to hear about your toe. I have not had much time for FB lately. Hope it will be better soon. Have you been soaking it? Isn't it ice for the first day or two then warm soak? I used to be a klutz (still am but haven't needed to see the doc about it for a while). I think I remember some of the instructions.....lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! :D I have been soaking it! It seems to be helping!
DeleteI hope your toe is feeling better soon--I'm impressed you got two miles in! Foot injuries are the worst when you have active dogs! Barley will tolerate a day or two of rest with me, but I usually have to push through the pain and get out for a walk--we just try to keep them very short and then make it up for it with inside games that I can play without having to move around too much.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! That's kind of what I've been doing, too! They go for at least 4 walks a day. My husband does a short one in the morning before work and then they have two more with me, one usually being a longer one and then a short one at night. I've just had to reduce the time on those walks because I couldn't keep a shoe on for more than 20 minutes at a time.
DeleteI've never seen a mole, wonder if they are in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteJack loves hunting for gophers (the same as moles?) and made quite a mess of our backyard last spring. Digging is good exercise though.
ReplyDeleteMoles are a bit different but still rodents, lol
DeleteMy mom is accident prone too, but she just keeps walking. She wore a boot for a foot injury and gave up after two weeks because of all the walking the boot fell apart! Even when she had salmonella poisoning, she managed to get out with us, but it was a long, tedious process. Hope your toe feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! :) They still went for some walks but just not as long or as far. :) I could only manage to keep the shoe on for 20 minutes at a time.
DeleteOuch! poor toe!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pose on the fence, just gorgeous!
If for whatever reason I am unable to walk the huskies I try and find things to do indoors with them, such as a little hide and seek game with treats.
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you!! Zoe had her total "I'm a hunting spaz" face on! LOL
DeleteMr. N doesn't believe in skipping walks unless I have surgery. Anything "minor," colds, the flu etc., he insists we go out.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't really skip any, just had to shorten them way up. :D They still got out at least 4 times a day. Vince takes them out in the morning before work for a short walk and then I do the other three, I usually do at least one long walk but I couldn't until this week! :D
DeleteI hope that your toe heals quickly. Your two pups look very happy in those photos. I really love the one of both them propped on the fence.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! :D
DeleteNola would love this! She's killed several moles in the yard.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!! Zoe managed to kill two squirrels but that's all that I know of! :D
DeleteSuch fit, lean dogs! Love them!
