Zoe says, "Don't take my package away!! I might not get another!"
So this is a little bit of a rant. Dang you FedEx! We usually get at least one package a week. Between online shopping and reviews I'm a frequent mail carrier flyer. With my review packages, I unfortunately don't get much choice in which carriers they ship with and I don't know the tracking numbers. I just have a general idea when I should be expecting it and that's it.
Lately, I have been having so much trouble with FedEx and USPS, too. FedEx lost two of my packages, both times saying they were delivered. I'm not sure where or who they delivered them to but it wasn't me!! I hope whoever got them enjoyed their stinky dog treats. Sigh. One of the companies is in the process of sending me another box. The other company sent a second box and on the day it arrived it was pouring rain. The delivery driver person delivered everything to the office at our apartment complex and didn't bother putting any notices on any doors. I had no idea I had anything!! We found out about it because one of the girls who works in the office also happens to live in our building. She saw my husband on Saturday night in the parking lot and let him know it was there. The office is closed on Sundays, too. I was happy that she let us know but really annoyed that the people responsible for delivering didn't tell me.
We've always gotten notices on our doors! It's been extremely frustrating. I did contact FedEx and complained through their website but so far they haven't been much help and don't seem that concerned. I'm probably never going to get another package again at this rate!
Then there was USPS. Our mailboxes are pretty tiny so if a package comes through regular mail and it doesn't fit they go directly to the office as well. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. It's JAIL for you, packages!!! I suck at Monopoly and this NOT funny! Before the mail people were really good about leaving notes in the box. Not anymore. No notes. I had three packages sitting down at the office, two from USPS and one from FedEx. It was ridiculous.
That wasn't the only thing lost, puppy!!
Oddly enough, we have had a great experience with UPS! They seem to be very hard working people. Several trucks arrive at our complex and they are always helping each other out! They work in teams of 2-3 and are running around delivering things like they are supposed to! Even if it's (GASP) raining!
Does anyone else have any fun mail carrier stories!! Someone, cheer me up! :D

The only trouble that I've had is a lost tee shirt from USPS. We are pretty lucky with great delivery people. Of course, we are home most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! We have been real lucky with packages. UPS or USPS delivers 99% of ours, they leave them at our door if they don't fit in the mailbox and they normally arrive on time. Hope your deliveries get better as it would make Mom and I furious as well. We get tons of stuff too and know roughly when it should show up and it does.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand not putting a notice on your door. I would say laziness. We have a mailbox at the curb in front of our house. On the few occasions that we have a show photo taken the post office loves to roll them up despite the envelope saying "do not bend". It is irritating. Those pictures cost like $30.
ReplyDeleteI guess maybe make a point to check the office one or two days a week. :)
Thanks for joining the hop!
I definitely agree with you!! It's been total laziness!! We used to get packages to our door all the time and then all of a sudden they stopped and then packages got lost or were sitting down at the office without me knowing. It just makes me feel really badly because some of them were reviews! I could of had those up had I known I had them.
DeleteAlso, I'm sorry about your pictures!! That sucks!!
DeleteNo fun stories...but we often get other people's mail in our box, which makes us worry what of ours gets put in the wrong box as well. Packages via UPS/FEDEX aren't usually a problem since we are in a house, but a few thru USPS have gone to the wrong house. Mis-delivery just seems like one of those annoying issues we all deal with from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI have to say we have pretty good service - our UPS guys even wrap boxes in plastic if it is raining out.
ReplyDeleteI figure they are all human and mistakes will happen. I've had issues with all 3 companies, but thankfully, the company the packages or letters have come from, have been very accommodating and understanding. I never really expect USPS, UPS, or Fedex to correct a problem, unless I have a tracking number and they typically always provide those whether I receive or send a package.
ReplyDeleteUgh. I know exactly how you feel. USPS and FedEx have both wronged me many times over the years. I loooove UPS though and use them for everything. :)
ReplyDeleteLately UPS delivers super late to us, which is still better than not at all. We are always worried that someone will walk away with our packages. Our front door is pretty visible by the road.

Ugh, that really stinks. I've been lucky with delivery people!
ReplyDeletewell, I live in an apartment building too (but ours is a condo on 2nd floor). UPS and FEDEX NEVER bring my packages to the office (my mail box is tiny, as yours is). They leave the package in front of my door (per my request)....OR...they put it on top of the line of mailboxes in our downstairs hallway. Maybe you should request through your post office that the packages be left outside of your door, rather than the office?
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteWow! Y'all have TERRIBLE delivery people! We're lucky. They leave stuff on the porch and if they need a signature they go to my Human's sister-in-law. Doesn't matter if it's P.O., FedX, FedX ground or UPS. In the mountains one time they delivered an overnight package to a vacant lot the Humans owned. BOL! Otherwise, the packages are left on the porch by the various carriers.
Y'all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Bummer about those troubles!! Our USPS isn't nice to our mail either...I recently received a paperback book for class and instead of putting it into one of the large boxes and leaving me a key like they have int he past....they jammed it into my teeny tiny mail box and damaged the cover! I could barely get it out. :-(
ReplyDeleteUPS we do love and use when we can.
I feel your pain. Since my family lives pretty far away, if I go visit, I usually stay for a week or more to make the long drive worth it. That means I put my main on hold so it's not piling up. The USPS website makes it super easy to do that and that have an option to have the mail redelivered on the date of your choice--but does the mail EVER get redelivered? No. Every single time I wait for it to be redelivered. Every single time it's not--until I go back to the website and complain that my mail hasn't been delivered (even if they deliver new stuff that comes after the hold expires!). It's exasperating. Sometimes I think about just going and picking it up myself, but with my luck they'd actually remember to load it on the mail truck on those days!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya! The only carrier I'm really happy with is UPS. They're great. Our UPS guy always comments that we get an awful lot of dog stuff. :p Guess the four dogs watching through the fence wasn't enough giveaway, LOL!
ReplyDeleteMy issue is with my mailman. Yes, it's a man. He is a lazy piece of $h!t! Once he shoved a package into my mailbox and it took me five minutes and a scraped wrist to get it out. He refuses to get out of his truck and bring the package to my door, and will leave it on the front lawn. AND he still delivers mail for the people who lived here 8 years ago. I want to put a note in the box and ask the stupid muther...... if he knows how to read.
ReplyDeleteEnd of rant. I'm sorry you are having problems with UPS and Fed-Ex and I didn't mean to laugh, but I did. Those were great photos and captions.
We live on School St and there is a school st in pretty much every neighborhood, so sometimes our packages end up in the wrong place! Which can be quite the bummer. But, they always fetch them back for us eventually.
ReplyDeleteChewy LOVES our mailman because he gives him treats. He literally stalks the guy when we're out on walkies!
