Involuntary Swim and Unwanted Guest!
The other day, we took my husband with us to the park. He works a lot so he doesn't get to come along very often. Since the forecast said it was probably going to rain I didn't bring my better camera and all of these photos were taken with my smart phone. I apologize for the quality! Anyways, in keeping with my "explore new trails" theme, we did just that. We decided to walk along the river and at one point we came across this nice look out spot (pictured above).
Right next to the lookout spot we found a tree that had fallen into the water and the girls had to check it out...
On their way back to us, Zoe bumped Phoenix right off the log and into the river! Oops! Poor Phoenix was not expecting that! Luckily we have been practicing swimming lately and she was able to pull herself back up onto the log. I missed that photo but her strength was amazing!
After she got back to us, we encouraged her to try again. She did and this time she stayed well away from her naughty sister!
About 20 minutes later it started pouring rain so we decided to hike back out to our car. My husband ended up bringing home an unexpected and unwanted guest! A tick!! He had a tick crawling on him! It totally freaked us both out. Luckily we caught the sucker and disposed of him in alcohol before he could bite. Ugh... I hate those things! No one else had any ticks, thank goodness! I'm not sure why but my husband is always the target for nasty critters. He's the one always getting bitten by stuff. Poor thing. We had fun other than the unwanted guest, though and it was overall a pretty good day!
Happy Monday Mischief everyone!

LOL! Looks like something Bailie and I would do to each other! We found ticks on the human last week after our hike, but none on the dogs. They were still crawling, so no harm done.
ReplyDeleteUgh! Ticks freak me out a little. Hailey had one once. I had to remove it. It wasn't fun.
ReplyDeleteStay dry!
Ugh! Ticks just tick me off! It looks like you all had a wonderful time though.

That looks like an awesome little spot! I hate ticks so so much. The area we'll be moving to is pretty wooded and has a good tick population, so I'm going crazy Google-ing all sorts of plants that we need to plant that help to keep ticks away LOL. They're awful. Luckily he wasn't attached yet though!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a really fun park. It's so weird because we've never found any ticks before and we go there 4-5 times a week and the girls are running around through the brush. Maybe I should stick to my usual paths, lol!!
DeleteI hate ticks so much... eek!
Lol oh siblings!
ReplyDeleteMost things in the universe seem to have some purpose but ticks and fleas are not among them.
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a day you all had. Alcohol to discard a tick - got to keep that in mind. I always squish and then flush LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a trick I learned from all my years grooming and also working at a vet clinic. I hate dealing with them even though I have a lot of experience!
DeleteTicks go beyond mischief in my book! I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMe too!!
DeleteYou look like you would rather remain on that log, guys.

Looks like it was a great hike! Glad it wasn't me who fell in the water though, I would have panicked lol!
ReplyDeleteYuck about ticks! I'm always thorough about checking the pups over when we get back from our hikes.
ReplyDeleteYep, me too! I gave them a B.A.T.H after this hike so they were checked thoroughly. LOL!
DeleteI can't stand ticks and it's weird because we haven't seen any at all until the one that was crawling on my husband. We go to that park 4 or 5 times a week!
aaaaiiiieeeeee I hate ticks. At least you saw it! That's the fear, the unseen one. LeeAnna writing for Cole
ReplyDeletePoor Phee! I'm glad she was bold enough to go back out there!
ReplyDeleteSwimming is fun! YIKES, a tick!! No fun!

Haha,that is just too funny!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got it before it bit! As for the unexpected swim, the dogs always amaze me with what they can do when they put their minds to it!
ReplyDeleteTicks are gross. Biting insects seem to gravitate to me as well, I heard eating lots of garlic (yum!) will help keep them away, not sure if it works or not, but that is why even on the hottest days of summer you will see me with long sleeves and pants when walking the dogs in the wooded areas.
ReplyDeleteYuck on ticks. I hate them too. Too bad the rain cut your walk short.
