It's a Jungle out there!

Phoenix

I'm still trying to get back to normal, so this week we went walking with my friend and her dog Ava a couple of times. It's nice to get out to the park with a friend! The weather has really gotten hot again, too! We went early in the morning and by 9:30 we were already hot!

Ava

The dogs were pretty unimpressed with us. We are currently avoiding the river because the water is warm and I am worried about the algae blooms and also dead salmon. Algae blooms are toxic to both dogs and people and with all the salmon dying off I'm worried about salmon poisoning. So we stayed on the trails away from the river and the dogs really wanted to go swimming. I felt bad but better safe than sorry. As you can see, in some places the trails are really over grown!

Zoe

They had a really good time and they are starting to get along a lot better as they are getting more used to each other. When we first met Ava she was really weirded out by how crazy the girls are when they're at the park so it took her some time for her figure them out. Overall I'm pretty happy with how everybody did!

  1. This time of year is tough as we are rarely allowed to swim either. It can be so hot too, but it looks like your girls had fun anyway.

    1. Yeah it's really disappointing because I'd love to go for a swim in the river, too!

    1. Yeah it really is and it's good motivation for me too. When my friend comes my pace times are always faster.

  4. I worry about those brain eating amoeba in the warmer water too. I'm hoping this heat spell breaks pretty darn soon.

  7. We haven't had that problem here. We have so few creeks and our rivers are pretty pathetic most of the time.

  9. That is too bad about the algae blooms and lack of swimming - (I would definitely do the same however). I know how much our boys will whine when they see water and can't go in!

Looks like everyone still had a great time though!

That last photo of Zoe reminds my Human Mama of her Basenji, now long over the rainbow.
