Zoe's First Hike! Throwback Thursday

This was four years ago! We took Zoe on her first hike and we did the tourist thing! We hiked Multnomah Falls.

She didn't really know us very well yet and she wasn't that thrilled about me picking her up but this was us at the very top of the falls! This hike had a gain of 620 feet and my husband and I were not regular hikers. We were dying by the time we got to the top but I was really happy we made it.

It was really fun but I will admit that we haven't hiked it again, except for the lower portion to the first bridge. It's packed with tourists and is way too busy. It's a beautiful spot, though and if you're visiting the Portland area, I would recommend stopping by and checking it out.

Sorry for the quality of these photos, back then I didn't have a decent camera. :)

  2. She may not have been all that comfortable with you and a hike, but it was great to get her started as it is all part of the bonding process.

  3. Aww she's such a sweetie, and don't worry about the quality of your photos, they're still lovely. And I'm pretty sure I'd be sore after that sort of hike, I really need to get back to some inclines now and again.

  5. Her ears are so cute!
Sounds like a rigorous hike. I hope you had brought some good snacks to enjoy at the top!

    1. She was a little nervous at the bottom bridge with all the people in a small space and again a little nervous at the very top but going up and down she did great! :D

  8. That hike is harder than it looks, and I made the mistake of trying to make a go of it in the fall. While it was cooler, it can get darn slick up there when the temperature drops! Never again! Now I just go in the summertime.

  9. What a great memory! It looks like it could be scary hike. I don't think that Shyla could've handled it when we first met her (due to bridges, heights, and... the worst of all... people!).

It looks like sweet Zoe has barely changed over those 4 years!
