Unhelpful Helpers! Office Dogs and Work Updates!

We're bored! We want to play!

Unhelpful helpers are unhelpful! Although, honestly, I don't blame them for being bored!

I've been working a lot more lately and that means Zoe and Phoenix have gotten a little less attention than usual, which makes for bored dogs. I'm lucky they are welcome at my work, though!

The girls have been doing really well. We actually have a pretty great work routine down. Phoenix helps with orientation for our first classes that don't have dogs, then Zoe does a trick demo towards the end of our sessions. It's been a lot of fun being able to use them for demos. Zoe absolutely loves showing off for a crowd and our clients are amazed at what you can do with a dog. I've been told several times how inspiring my dogs are and that they want to go further with their training, too! It's been so fun helping people teach their dogs tricks and seeing everyone laughing and having a good time. It's my favorite part of my job, hands down.

During one of our last classes, Phoenix actually did a demo in front of other dogs! She did so awesome and she never took her eyes off of me. One of the coolest benefits from working where I work is that my co-workers have been so sweet to Phoenix. They've taken extra time out of their days to make sure she's comfortable and having fun. Phoenix is no longer afraid to go to work with me and she's so much more confident there. It's also been generalized to people outside of work and she's  a lot more friendly to strangers these days. It's been awesome. I'm so thankful to all the people who have been helping me with her.

I really love my job and I have one of the best training mentors I could ask for! Things have been going so well! The only downside is that I'm so busy that it's hard to blog. I'm really trying to keep up, though. We have some fun posts coming soon so stay tuned!

  1. Expose and working hard at it are the keys to helping us dogs overcome fears. So glad both your girls are doing so well, and you are enjoying what you do too.

  2. Awww on these shots. Your girls are so photogenic. I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Perhaps you need to scale back on things. Take the pressure off. I did that with dropping three posts a week. It really made a difference.

Have a fabulous day. Scritches to the girls. ☺

  8. I love how your dogs are able to come with you to work and participate in it! The hardest thing for me when I have to leave the house is going someplace where my little ones aren't able to come with me (and, unfortunately, the classroom is one of them). It would be great to be able to have the Boys with me all the time!
