Zoe's Birthday Hiking trip!

For Zoe's Gotcha Birthday, we took her and Phoenix to Wrights Lake for a hiking trip! I absolutely love this area. It's "Desolation Wilderness" in the west from Lake Tahoe.

Both of the girls really love exploring the trails and huge granite rocks that you can find out there!  

This area used to be used by cattle ranchers and homesteading! They don't do it anymore but they have the cabins available for rentals for people in the summer. There's lots of places to explore and the "Loop Trail" is a very easy and doable trail.

Phoenix wasn't very happy about me leaving her snacks in the car! She kept asking for them! 

"Daddy, do you have snacks???"

Zoe was so intrigued by the people in canoes! She stopped to watch them a bunch of times.

They also got to go swimming and munch on grass.

I had to take some posed photos!! They did really well despite the fact that their treats were left in the car. I can't believe I actually got descent photos without baiting them! :D

We had a really awesome day. The lake was really busy around the campsites and Phoenix met a few big dogs. She did not react. I was very proud of her. When we got out of the campsites it was just us and the forest and I was able to let them run around a bit off the leash. I think they had a great time. It was such a nice, relaxing day. 

One of the best parts of my day was this painting! One of my friends surprised me with this for Zoe's Gotcha Day and I absolutely love it! Thank you so much, Natalie!!
