BRAVO Pet Foods Review

Happy Tasty Tuesday everyone! I hope you're all having an awesome day today!

I was recently given the opportunity to try the new raw food from BRAVO and I jumped on it because I've just started researching raw foods and started feeding the girls raw. Switching to raw is kind of nerve racking so having foods like this make it easy to get into the swing of it.

This is the food I did the giveaway for!

I was given a bag of Bravo in exchange for an honest review but I was not given any other compensation to tell you about it.

About Bravo:
Bravo is a family-owned company located in Manchester, Connecticut. Becoming a raw diet purveyor was a natural outgrowth of the original family business, Manchester Packing Company, that has specialized in providing high quality meats and poultry to the finest New England restaurants since 1942. Today, Bravo offers over 125 different items for dogs and cats that are made from the highest quality meats, poultry and fish. Plus, every product is processed following strict food safety guidelines.

  • They are passionate about quality and safety. Bravo! has a comprehensive safety program in their plant to ensure the purity and reliability of their products.
  • Every Bravo! raw diet product is sent to an independent laboratory and tested for the presence of bacteria.
  •  Every step of the manufacturing and distribution process – from their plant floor to the retailer’s freezer - is carefully monitored to ensure the product is properly transported and stored.
  • All of their Dinners are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO dog food nutrient profile for all life stages.

We received a 3 ounce bag of their Natural Turkey Dinner for Dogs.

The ingredients include: Turkey, turkey liver, sweet potatoes, chickpeas, turkey hearts, green beans, turkey gizzards, cranberries, dried eggs, tricalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, potassium chloride, choline chloride, dried kelp, turmeric, rosemary, sage, thyme, marjoram, salt, mixed tocopherols, zinc proteinate, iron proteinate, copper proteinate, manganese proteinate, sodium selenite, calcium iodate, vitamin E supplement, thiamine mononitrate, niacin supplement, calcium pantothenate, biotin, vitamin A supplement, riboflavin supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid, rosemary extract.

One of my favorite things about Bravo! is that they have a comprehensive list that says exactly where each ingredients is sourced from.

I also like that it's freeze dried and doesn't need to be refrigerated. It makes meal time very convenient, especially when we travel! All you have to do is add water. It's equal parts water and Bravo food. So 1 cup of Bravo food + 1 cup of water. It needs to soak for 15-20 minutes.

It's important to me to know what my girls are eating and I really like that you can easily see the ingredients! You can see bits of turkey, cranberries and the greens that are in this food.

When I fed it to the girls, I mixed it up and then fed my cats and did a couple of house chores while I was waiting. The food smelled so good that I had to hide it from the cats because they thought they were getting seconds!! It actually smells like Turkey!

Zoe can be hard to feed in the mornings, for some reason, a lot of time she will refuse a bowl of kibble. Not this food! As soon as she smelled it, she got really excited and actually wanted to eat! This made me very happy because I always worry about her when she doesn't want her breakfast.

Nothing makes Phoenix more happy than food. She was super excited to try this food, as well. My original plan was to feed Zoe first near the Christmas tree for photos and then feed Phoenix there so they'd both have nice decorative photos but Phoenix was not having any of that!! So she got fed on the opposite side of the kitchen.

Overall, the dogs thought this food was fantastic and I really like the ingredients in it. I like that it's super convenient and easy to feed. It's moderately priced and I would get this again. I highly recommend checking this food out! :D

I recently gave away 4 bags of this food and now I have another giveaway for you! This time I'm giving a way 5 bags of Bravo! Crunchy Delights Dog treats! 2. I've been looking for food for my dogs that is healthy and doesn't break the bank. With five rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds and three cats (also rescues), we go through a LOT of food, treats, etc.

  3. I've been wanting to try the Bravo brand. I don't think I'm ready to do the raw feeding yet (and I commend you for doing so!), but I think some treats might be a good place to start getting to know the brand.

    1. Yeah, feeding raw is kind of daunting at first! I really love all the resources that are out there, though and I have a really close friend who feeds raw and I've been asking her tons of questions!

  9. Wow, the food looks fantastic! I'd love to try the treats because I'm still trying to figure out what works for Skipper, since he can be ridiculously picky about some things. For now Zukes and FreshPet Vital Chicken are working as his favorite training treats.
