Zoe and Phoenix found a Red Ear Slider turtle at Thousand Acres on one of our previous hikes! They were really weirded out by the stinky moving "rock". Every time it would move they would both jump back. Zoe tapped it a couple of times very gently with her paw.
What is this thing?? |
The turtle made it safely off the well traveled path and we haven't seen one since but it was pretty funny! No Turtles were harmed in the making of this blog post! Zoe and Phoenix are just not turtley enough for the turtle club!
(Does anyone remember that really dumb movie The Master of Disguise? That's the only line I remember from it!)
Happy Wordless Wednesday everyone!
Cairo and Reagan would be just as curious but I am not sure if they would be as gentle. EEKK!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Weird stinky rock friend!
ReplyDeleteThat's super cute. I'm sure they were very confused by the moving rock.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared to death of turtles. I bark at them and run in circles around them. You two are very brave. We have a lot of snapping turtles here, so Mom is happy I don't try to touch them just in case they snap.
ReplyDeleteI bet they wondered what that thing was. lol I do not remember the movie.
ReplyDeleteHahaha poking it is totally something Chewy would do, too! Love intrigued doggy faces!
ReplyDeleteScared of a little turtle you sill dogs? Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteLol. Turtles are definitely out and about right now.
ReplyDelete"Hey, rocks are not supposed to move!"
ReplyDeleteIf you see red eared sliders in the future, catch them and bring them to fish and wildlife. They are an invasive species that is causing our native painted turtles to die out.
ReplyDeleteHa! I never even saw that movie and I know the line from the trailer! I thought of it immediately. Hope you and the girls are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteMa tells me that turtles bite so I never got near one. Didn't want to get bit. By looking at this photo , I think she fibbed to me. #BadMom!
ReplyDeleteI'm always afraid the pups will get pinched by those!
ReplyDeleteMonty and Harlow
How funny! I guess a turtle would be an unusual sight for someone who doesn't know what they are looking at. At least the dogs got some great amusement out of it.

That's so cute! I think it's hilarious when the dogs stumble across a turtle. I discourage them from going near them though, since we have lots of snapping turtles in Florida and they'll take your hand off if not careful.
ReplyDeleteWe never found a turtle before, just a dead raccoon.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Isn't it funny how things we see everyday keep our dogs memorized? I love it when they discover stuff.
ReplyDeleteBarley is scared of turtles! If we see one--even from a long distance--she freezes and won't move. She's such a weirdo!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, turtles can be freaky! I love them though and I'm happy this one safely went on its way.
ReplyDeleteWe see turtles sometimes in Spring. I poke 'em with my nose. They don't do much, aye? I get bored cause they won't run.
ReplyDelete"Turtle turtle!" hahahahahahahaha!!!!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
