This is the first picture we ever took of Phoenix. We are on the way home from the shelter! The little ear poking up in the left hand corner is Zoe's. I think Phoenix was a little carsick. Poor baby!
This was the first walk I took Phoenix on when we got home to our apartment complex. Zoe is showing her the big yard.
One of my favorite things about Phoenix, that i noticed right away, is her love for toys. She would bring every single toy out of the basket and play with them all in a pile, take some of them to her bed and collapse. She likes to sleep with no less than 5 toys. It's the cutest thing ever.
Phoenix 2nd Gotcha/Birthday is coming up next month! I can't believe it's been 2 years already.
Hmm, I wonder if Phoenix has a touch of Greyhound in her? Toy hoarding and sleeping with toys is a common Greyhound quirk :)
ReplyDeleteWe were thinking Iggie or Whippet. She's only 28lbs. :D
DeleteShe looks very happy to have found you and to have a great home. Happy early gotcha day!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! We love her! :D
DeleteSo sweet, mom loves looking back at pics of us! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYeah! It's really fun seeing where they were and remembering. :D
DeleteIt's amazing how quickly time goes by. She does look a bit dumbfounded in the first couple pictures :) Does she get carsick a lot? My last dog did and I always felt so terrible, I couldn't get him to look out the window for anything. I love that she sleeps with all those toys, must be nice and comforting. Coming from the shelter I bet she knows how well she's got it made.
ReplyDeleteYeah, sometimes I feel like it's going by too quickly! She does get carsick pretty often. It sucks. I always feel so bad for her. She definitely loves her toys! She is the most playful dog I've ever had. :D I do agree with you about coming home from the shelter.. if she was a kid she probably would of thought she landed in Disney Land. :D
DeleteShe is adorable. When Sampson first came home at eight weeks he was enthralled with his toys. Coming from a litter of ten he had to share everything. At first he took all his toys and brought them into his crate, which I thought was ADORABLE. BUT that quickly stopped and the toys were left lying about the house.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Phoenix's story and thank you for joining the blog hop!!
Awe! Sampson sounds like a cutie!! :D Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteHow cute that she liked her new toys! Our doggies only like to rip them up. Thanks for joining the Barks and Bytes hop!
ReplyDeletePhoenix is really good about not ripping the toys up but Zoe isn't! She loves to destroy them. We have to be careful and keep an eye on her. Luckily she isn't as interested in toys as Phoenix is! :D
Deletewhat a sweetheart! Barks and licks and love, Dakota, www.dakotasden.net
ReplyDeleteYeah, she really is!! Thank you!! :D
DeleteIt's so precious that she sleeps with her toys.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we think so, too!! :D
DeleteTwo years! That's just insanity.
ReplyDeleteI know, right?? How do we make it stop?
